About the Book
Essentials
of Molecular Biology, Fourth Edition focuses on the fundamental aspects
of molecular structure and function by reviewing key features and along the
way, capsulizing them as a series of concise concepts. Thus, students are encouraged
to place the reductionist knowledge of molecular biology into broad contexts
and thereby develop both academic and personal meaning for this discipline.
The subject matter is organized into a series of modules which provide the instructor with an opportunity to scale up or down treatment of various topics, depending on the level of the students and the overall curriculum's format. Each chapter is bracketed by a "progression diagram" at the beginning, and a series of questions/problems at the end. The text of each chapter is conveniently formatted so as to permit additions or deletions, according to the individual instructor's preference.
